Tanya Akhmetgaliyeva. Born in 1983 in Kemerovo. Graduated from design department of the Kemerovo Art School in
2002. From 2005 to 2008 participated in the New Technologies in Contemporary Art program of the
PRO ARTE fund. Graduated from the department of monumental art of the Saint Petersburg
Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design in 2011. Winner of Novoyaz competition of the State
Hermitage Museum, finalist of Kandinsky Prize 2010, winner of Sergey Kuryokhin award of 2015
in best visual artwork category. Her works are in museum collections of Moscow Museum of
Modern Art and museums of Finland.
Tanya Akhmetgaliyeva works with textile in an original technique, particularly by combining different media (graphics, video, installation). Her central theme is variety of everydayness. Many
of her projects are based on her archives and have the form of peculiar observations diaries.
