Nina Bisyarina. Born in 1981 in a closed town Sverdlovsk-44 (now Novouralsk). Graduated from the Ural State
Academy of Visual Arts and Architecture in 2004 (first class of the animation design department).
All her animation films were awarded with international prizes. Lives and works in Ekaterinburg.
Artist and animator Nina Bisyarina works in classic drawing style. Her graduate work Sparrows Are
Children of Pigeons was marked at the animation festival in Suzdal and several European animation
festivals. This work became the first in a trilogy that later included A Trip to the Seaside, which also
got festival awards, and Don’t Forget to Take Your Belongings When You Leave. Apart from
creating films, she collaborates with other authors, for example, she created characters and
animation for Loving Eyes music video by Sansara, and for documentaries ILF&PETROV and Keep
My Words Forever by Roma Liberov.
As part of the Artist-in- Residence program of the Ural Biennial, Nina Bisyarina works in an
unusual genre for her, complementing an animated film with a total installation built on her
childhood memories (as is all her work).
