Sveta Shuvaeva was born in 1986 in the city of Bugulma, Tatarstan. In 2010, she graduated from Samara State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering with a degree in environmental design. From 2011 to 2016, she worked in the collective studio of Vladimir Smirnov and Konstantin Sorokin Foundation on the Burakova Street in Moscow. In 2013, she opened Svetlana gallery in her apartment, this gallery was located in a closet. Among her solo exhibitions: Mounting Tapes (Guelman Projects, Moscow, 2009); Scans (Two Dots gallery, Togliatti, 2009); Magic Mountain (together with Irina Korina, XL Gallery, Moscow, 2015); Character of the Crowd (Peresvetov Lane gallery, Moscow, 2015). Participant of numerous group exhibitions: Capture (Victoria Gallery, Samara, 2009); Ultimate/Concrete (Museum of Contemporary Art PERMM, Perm, 2010); Modern Abstraction - Destroyed Gestalt (New Space gallery, Samara, 2011); Angry Birds (Museum of Modern Art, Warsaw, 2012); To Draw (Anna Nova gallery, Saint Petersburg, 2013); 3rd Ural Industrial Biennial of Contemporary Art (Ekaterinburg, 2015); Observatory (Specialized Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Nizhniy Arkhyz, 2016). Lives and works in Moscow.
