Lecture for representatives of the professional museum community Gradients of Freedom and Professionalism in the Museum Education of the XXI Century.

How are the developing professionalism, freedom of choice, and the interpretation of works of art interconnected in the Russian museum education of the XXI century? What are the contradictions and ways to resolve them between professional norms, traditions, renewed state requirements and the demands of society, different parts of the audience in this field? What academic freedoms should a museum teacher have? The search for answers to these questions determines the main content of this lecture.

Lecturer: Boyko Aleksey, candidate of art history, teacher, head of the sector of educational and information technologies of the State Russian Museum. Associate Professor of the Department of Theory and History of Architecture and Arts of Saint Petersburg State Art and Industrial Academy and of the Department of Art Education and Museum Pedagogy of the Russian State Pedagogical University named after A.I. Herzen, laureate of the Russian Federation State Prize in the field of literature and art.
